Flipkart Goods Worth ₹1.21 Crore Stolen During Big Billion Days: Inside the iPhone Heist Case

Date: October 2025

The Incident

A truck carrying Flipkart consignments worth over ₹1.21 crore was looted en route to Punjab during the company’s Big Billion Days sale. The stolen cargo included 221 iPhones, along with clothes, perfumes, eyeliners, and other products.

The consignment, loaded from Bhiwandi in Mumbai on September 27, was handled by Camion Logistics Solutions Pvt. Ltd. and was destined for Flipkart’s Khanna warehouse in Punjab. The vehicle was driven by Nasir from Rajasthan and assisted by Chet, his helper.

When the truck reached the Khanna facility, Nasir reportedly got down while Chet parked the vehicle. Later, warehouse staff discovered discrepancies during unloading. Upon scanning, 234 items were found missing from the consignment.

The Investigation

Pritam Sharma, Flipkart’s field operations executive, filed a complaint against the driver and his helper, alleging their involvement in the theft. Punjab Police have booked both individuals and launched a detailed investigation.

DSP Amritpal Singh Bhati confirmed that CCTV footage is being reviewed. “The key question is how the digital lock, which was sealed in Mumbai, got opened before reaching the destination,” he stated.

The stolen goods have an estimated value of ₹1,21,68,373. Authorities are also probing whether any external party or insider collusion was involved.

Security Concerns Raised

This case has highlighted a major gap in logistics security systems. The container was sealed with a high-security digital lock, which, as per protocol, can only be opened by authorized warehouse officials upon delivery. The driver and helper are not supposed to have access to the lock’s credentials.

Despite this setup, the theft occurred, indicating potential misuse, tampering, or internal breach. Experts in supply chain security point out that even advanced locking systems are ineffective without real-time monitoring and strict accountability at every stage of the transit process.

Company Response

Flipkart and Camion Logistics have both initiated internal investigations. The companies are reviewing their cargo tracking mechanisms, digital lock data logs, and employee supervision systems. Police have launched a search for the two accused individuals while questioning other personnel linked to the route and warehouse operations.

Key Takeaway

This theft incident, happening in the middle of one of India’s biggest e-commerce sales, underscores the importance of end-to-end visibility and digital oversight in logistics. Smart locks alone cannot prevent thefts unless supported by live access tracking, geofencing alerts, and human accountability at every checkpoint.
